Indian boys have solid day at Wes-Del

The Indian boys track team traveled to Wes-Del on Tuesday night to take on Wes-Del, Winchester and Randolph Southern and made huge gains as the season continues to move towards the the championship part of the season. Grant Elliott set another PR in high jump with a Leap of 6'0 beating his previous best of 5'8. There were also a lot of big PR's in all events throughout the meet. The boys team is still working on some things to better but with the amount of numbers on the team this year we believe that the rest of the season is going to a lot of fun to watch. In the 110mh it was Jayson Connor was once again battling Carter Campbell and Connor was able to finish less than a second behind Campbell. Nieto also scored points for the Indians placing 5th in a field of tough hurdlers. Colton Emrick was the top placer in the 100m dash placing 5th and just missing out on a PR by .2 which would have moved him up to second place. Conner Walser tackled the 1600m run for the first time this season and ran away with it after the first lap placing first for the Indians. Scott O'Connor placed 9th for the Indians just missing out on his PR. The boys 4x1 relay team of Alec Spence, Jackson Cowper, Colton Emrick and Conner Walser ran their best race of the season and a new PR. In a strong field the Indians placed 3rd and beating their previous best by nearly two seconds. Wilson Mendez-Aguliar ran a new PR in the 400m dash and a 4th place finish. Alvaro Delgado Lopez took off in the 800m for the first time and ran a very impressive race and when it was all finished ran to a 3rd place finish and less than one second from placing first. The boys 4x400 relay team of Alec Spence, Jackson Cowper, Colton Emrick and Conner Walser closed out the night with a 4x400 B team of Kolton Mills, Grant Elliott, Joseangel Perez and Luis Nieto. After it was all finished the boys A team finished first ad the B team placed 5th just behind Winchester's A team. In Shot Put it was all Indians as Michael Miller took the top spot with his best throw of the season and he was followed up by Kolton Mills placing second and achieving a new best throw by three feet. In discus Brayden Timmerman was the top Indian placing 4th and once again throwing to a new PR. In high jump it was Grant Elliott taking 2nd place with a new PR of 6'0 beating his old best that he achieved last week. Jackson Cowper and Joseangel Perez both placed in the top 5 for the Indians in long jump. Cowper took the top spot and Jose was able to leap to a 5th place finish.
