The Indian boys track team competed in their only home track meet on Monday and didn’t disappoint the fans on Senior Night finishing 3rd and just 4 points shy of beating a really good team from Blackford.
Landen Dickmann had near PR performances in the 110mh and 300mh while going up against his best competition of the year. Landen finished 2nd place in the 110mh with a time of 18.9 then placing 2nd in the 300mh with a new personal best time of 48.44.
Blayne Daniels had his best performances of his career in the 100 and 200m races while facing a standout runner from Richmond High School. In the 100m Blayne crosses the finish line in 2nd with a time of 11.18 then followed it up in the 200m with another 2nd place finish with a time of 23.05.
Eli Moore once again played a big part for the Indians in both relays but also finishing 4th in the 100m and a new personal best time of 11.78.
Alec Spence has had a great freshman year so far and last night was no different. Spence crossed the finish line in 5th place in the 200m with a new personal best time 23.76. Spence was huge for the Indians as well in the 4×100 and 4×400 relay teams.
Conner Walser had a break out meet in the 1600 and 3200 for the Indians as well. Conner knew that he needed to be on the gas in the 1600 or he would get left behind and he was up to the challenge and finished 2nd in a near photo finish with a new PR of 5:02. In the 3200 Conner took 2 seconds off of his time finishing with a time of 11:28 placing 3rd to against 2 very good runners from Richmond and Blackford.
In the 800m run the Indians had 3 runners racing each other for bragging rights with Colin Anguiano passing Lucas Long Shot Lykins in the last 50 meters. Josiah Bowers finished 3rd behind Lykins as he continues to get ready for the County meet.
Tabius Reagan got back to winning form for the Indians as well in Discus finishing 1st with a throw of 115’8 to beat a solid thrower from Richmond. Tabius also finished 3rd in Shot.
Kyle Buckingham found his distance once again for the Indians in Discus finishing 5th then placing 5th in Shot to help the Indians.
The boys 4×100 team made up of Alec Spence, Eli Moore, Landen Dickmann and Blayne Daniels ran a great race against a very fast Richmond team. The relay team finished with a season best time of 46.79.
In the 4×400 the relay team of Daniels, Spence, Moore and Walser knew they had a tough task if they wanted to beat the Blackford relay team and they did what they set out to do. The first 3 runners got a lead for the Indians then Walser was able to hold off Blackford crossing the finish line with a time of 3:43.38
