The Indians Cross Country teams traveled to Winchester for the Randolph County meet on Tuesday and combined walked away with three All-County runners and four award award placers. The boys team got things started in what was the first meet of the year as a team after bringing on junior Bradin Daniels. After placing third a year ago the boys showed that they are able to battle with the teams from around the county. Conner Walser lead the way for the Indians earning All-County honors as he placed second with a time of 17:47 making it his last time running at the Randolph County Meet. Walser ran a solid race throughout and knew from the beginning that he was going to need a PR type of day to place first as the cooler temps worked in his competitor's favor. Bradin Daniels was the second Indian to cross the finish line as he crossed the line in 10th place with a time of 19:53. With Bradin's finish he earned All-County against a group of very good runners from around the county. Bradin will continue to get better this season as he was running his first race with eight days of practice. Levi Clark once again stepped up for the boys team finishing 15th with a time of 20:26. Levi did exactly what he was supposed to do throughout the meet making passes when he needed to and maintained a solid pace with the pack of falcons to help the team. Conner Cline and Levi worked well together throughout the race. Cline placed 16th for the Indians with a time of 20:33. While it wasn't Cline's personal record what he did was make a pass of two Winchester Falcons with less than a mile to go to help give the team two points that we were going to need. Scott O'Connor for the second meet in a row ran a new PR as he crossed the finish line in 22nd place with a time of 22:52. Before getting to the starting line Scotty knew that there was a chance that the team placing would come down to him and he grabbed the task by the horns and took off with it. O'Connor has taken one minute and eight seconds off of his time since September 9th. With the uncommon effort and the will power to be great the boys team was able to achieve what was once impossible. Ava Jefferis running in her third county championship once again finished as an All-County runner. In a field of very good runners Ava was able to cross the finish line in 9th with a time of 23:05. This was Ava's third All-County honors in a row. After the first mile Ava settled in and began her charge towards the front as she passed three county runners through the course before finishing a solid 9th place. We want to thank the parents for the snacks and balloons at school and at the meet. You are all appreciated very much!! The Indians are back in action on Saturday as they make the trip back to Winchester for the Winchester Invitational with HS Boys starting at 9:00 followed by girls then JH Boys starting at 10:20.
