Union City JH Boys hosted Blackford Monday night. Although the 8th grade lost 48-76, the team continues to improve in multiples areas of offense and defense. The Indians were led in scoring tonight by Dash Thacker with 16 points with Dylan Shinaver adding 15 points. Tayson Barbour had his best night of the year not only in scoring with 10 points, but rebounding and defensive stops. Cale Holt and Jadden Lopez-Forthe led the team in rebounds and take on challenging defensive assignments. Cooper Woolston is a spark to energize the team and tonight was no exception with taking a charge, adding a basket and making his presence felt with rebounding. Liam Conley led the team in deflections with his active hands and willingness to work hard. Jose Jimenez-Ulloa and Jordan Hylton continue to make a difference with their contributions on and off the court, they are great teammates. In summary, the team continues to improve and it is a joy, as well as a privilege to be their coach.
