The JH Boys hosted Richmond last evening, the 8th grade score: Richmond 47, Union City 25. The Union City point guard, Dash Thacker led the scoring with 13 points. Dylan Shinaver added 6 points despite having Richmond's best defender tightly guarding him. Tayson Barbour contributed with scoring, rebounding and good decision making. Jadden Lopez-Forthe contributed 4 points, but his greater contribution who he is as a person. Jadden leads by example in several areas; such as, work ethic. For example, late in the 4th quarter while down close to 20 points, Jadden's effort and mindset was not dependent upon the scoreboard, but rather a drive and discipline that is uncommon. Cale Holt did not score any points in the scorebook, but the difference he makes with rebounding and defending is remarkable. Cooper Woolston, Liam Conley, Keegan Cooper, Jose Jimenez-Ulloa and Jordan Hylton contribute in multiple ways on and off the court that makes a difference. Each member of this team are very coachable young men that are growing and improving.
