Union City triumphant thanks to a strong effort from Conner Walser

Even though the Union City Indians have not done well against the Wes-Del Warriors recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Everything went Union City's way against Wes-Del as Union City made off with a 61-39 win. With that victory, Union City brought their scoring average up to 53.5 points per game. Among those leading the charge was Conner Walser, who scored 21 points along with 4 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Union City's points. Angel Nieto was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with 5 rebounds. Wes-Del's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Corben Price, who scored 8 points along with 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Josiah Love, who scored 13 points along with 7 rebounds. The win makes it two in a row for Union City and bumps their season record up to 2-0. As for Wes-Del, their loss dropped their record down to 2-1. Indians are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Union City will take on Randolph Southern at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. JV Boys Basketball lost a heartbreaker to Wes-Del leading most of the second half the game got away from them late in the forth quarter. Indians were beaten by the Warriors 35-30. They will play Randolph Southern also on Friday with a tip off of 6:00 PM.
