The JH Boys Basketball Team traveled to Monroe Central Monday evening. The 8th grade score: MC 50, UC 40. The 8th grade team was led by Cale Holt with 17 points and played an outstanding game. Cale was the "Windex Man" in the way he "cleaned the glass" with his rebounding. Dylan Shinaver had another double digit scoring night with 11 points, while demonstrating his versatility in his new role as a point guard due to the unfortunate injury of Dash Thacker. Dylan did a great job of stepping into his new role and distributing the ball. The team will definitely miss the presence of Dash on the court for the remainder of the season, but his leadership presence is still present. Tayson Barbour continues to improve with rebounding and offensive aggressiveness with each game adding 6 points. Jadden Lopez-Forsythe added 3 points, but contributes in numerous categories; such as, deflections, steals and rebounds. Liam Conley had his first start and excelled with defending, hustle plays and contributing 3 points. Keegan Cooper and Jose Jimenez-Ulloa continue to make a difference each minute they are on the court, but their contributions are just as impactful with their team focus. Landon Crabtree made the most of each opportunity and unselfishness is a great example for all of us. The next game is this Thursday at home vs MV.
