Saturday morning the Indians made the trip to Portland for the Jay County Regional in hopes of Bradin Daniels and Austin Roth advancing to the Fort Wayne Semi-State. Bradin Daniels got things started for the Indians as he was faced Raef Keith of Cowan in the first round. Daniels went the distance before winning 9-0. In the second round Daniels saw Jason Prough of Norwell. Prough came into the match seeded 8th at the semi-state. Daniels once again battled and was able to finish with a pin. This set up a rematch of Bradin and Cody Rowles from Jay County in the finals. The finals match between Bradin and Rowles once again proved to be a battle with both guys trading takedowns and the score tied 2-2 going into the 3rd period. During the third period Rowles was able to get the upper hand on Daniels to take first place and set up another potential finals battle at the semi-state next week. Austin Roth unfortunately had to wrestle the number one seed senior Jayden Jett of Cowan in the first round. Roth gave it everything he had and more to try and advance but was beat in the the first period. Roth finished the season with an impressive record of 23-10 while also finishing second in the TEC. We are glad to have Austin on our team as he continues to grow as an athlete and is going to do big things for the wrestling program next season. With Bradin's second place finish he will be making the trip to Fort Wayne where he will look to become the first Indian state Qualifier since assistant coach Walters achieved it in 2012! Good Luck Bradin!! Congratulations Austin on a great season
