The boys are girls Cross Country runners traveled to South Adams Saturday morning for the South Adams Invitational and competed very well against fellow county runners as well as many other runners from the region. Conner Walser was the highest finishing Indian on the day. Walser held onto the lead pack of the race until the last half mile where they would pull away some and he crossed the finish line in 4th place with a time of 18:22.3. After crossing the finish line it was determined by multiple runners that the course was actually 3.26 instead of the normal 3.1 due to construction. Conner Cline had a great run going for the Indians before having issues with his leg causing him to fall back after the first mile. Cline was running his best meet of the season before crossing the finish line in 109th place with a time of 24:22.2. Josiah Bowers didn't have his best meet of the year but he still had an awesome race taking off 1 minute 30 seconds from his time last. Bowers battled with everyone throughout the race and crossed the finish line in 115th place with a time of 25:23.3. Scott O'Connor ran towards the middle of the pack most of the race before falling back some and battling with Josiah and Gavin towards the end of the race. Scott was able to outkick two runners including Gavin to take 119th place with a time of 25:46.7. Gavin Elmore came back after having a back injury and was able to once again better his time as he continues to get better and is by far the most mellow runner on the boys team. Gavin finished the day in 120th place with a time of 25:50.9. Ava Jefferis continued to improve like she has all season and was able to battle towards the front throughout the race. Ava finished 31st place with a time of 24:22.5. The Indians will travel to New Haven on Saturday for the New Haven Classic with girls starting at 8:20 am followed by the boys.
