BY RICK REED News-Gazette Sports Editor It wasn't the Homecoming Union City's had hoped for, but Northeastern's 47-0 victory over the Indians on Friday night wasn't entirely unexpected. Northeastern's veteran squad pretty much had its way with a much more young and inexperienced Indians' squad as the Knights improved to 4-1 overall and 4-1 in the Tri-Eastern Conference. The Indians are now 1-4 overall and 1-3 in the league. Senior quarterback Carson Terrell passed for 196 yards and ran for 98 more for the Knights. The Indians were led on offense by Bradin Daniels with 61 yards rushing and Brayden Huggins with 49 yards rushing. Quarterback Alex Spence completed one pass, a 14-yarder to Alejandro Gonzales. Although the Indians were unable to score, they did manage to advance the ball to the Knights' 8-yard-line late in the third quarter but turned the ball over on downs. They finished with 130 yards of total offense. Defensively, Daniels paced the Tribe with seven tackles. Union City travels to Union County Friday night for a conference game.
