The Indians traveled to Union for the Randolph County Cross Country Meet on Tuesday and came away with three All County runners and new personal best times for the season as the teams head into the TEC meet on Saturday at home. Ava Jefferis ran the best race of her career to date and finished 10th for the Indians to earn All County. Ava started the race in 11th place and began making her move with a mile and a half to go and was able to cross the finish line with a 23:08. Ava was able to beat her previous PR of 23:10 that she set last year at the county meet. In the boys race Conner Walser had high expectations for himself after having the county curse the last two years and it happened once again this year. Walser was running with the leader until falling in the wooded section of the course due to the side of his shoe blowing out. Conner was able to get back up and finish 3rd for the Indians while running out of his shoe. Conner crossed the finish line with a time of 17:48 and earning All County. Conner Cline had a career day as he took off with a goal of being sub 20 and he did just that an more. Cline stayed with runners who had beaten him this year and was able to keep them close enough until it was time to kick and like he has all season made the pass coming to the finish line to earn a new PR of 19:25 and a 10th place finish and All County. Josiah Bowers has set a standard for himself this season to get a PR every meet and that didn't change on Tuesday. Bowers ran a PR of 23:58 and finished 16th for the Indians. This was Josiah's 4th race this year setting a new PR. Gavin Elmore had another big day for the Indians as he ran his second sub 25 race in a row while crossing the finish line in 18th place and just three seconds shy of a PR. Gavin has gotten it figured out what he needs to do now and will continue to run faster as the season goes on. Scott O'Connor had a solid race for the Indians beating his time from Saturday by 23 seconds. Scott crossed the finish line in 21st place with a time of 28:34. The Indians will be back in action on Saturday at home for the TEC meet with high school girls kicking things off at 10:00am.
