The Boys and Girls teams traveled to Jay County on Tuesday night for a meet between Jay County and Winchester and while it wasn't the best night for many of the runners it was good to be able to compete against some of the county and sectional competition. The girls got the meet started and it was Ava Jefferis leading the way as she had her best meet of the season while battling back and forth for the lead with a girl from Jay County. After it was all finished Ava crossed the finish line in 2nd place with a time of 22:16 and was able to better her season best by 16 seconds that she ran on Saturday. Campbell Kerns was the next Indian to cross the finish line for the Indians placing 17th. Kerns had a great race going before getting in the back section of the course where she helped a group of girls go the right direction. While this wasn't Campbell's best race of the year she was close to running her best time of the season. Kara Walser was the final Indian to cross the finish line and like Kerns she didn't have her best race of the season she did run close to her best time that she ran on Saturday. Kerns and Walser have both been great teammates to each other this season pushing each other each meet to get better and faster and they will continue to push each other as the season goes on. Jackson Liss lined up for the Indians in the boys race and after running his best race of the season on Saturday was close to doing so once again on Tuesday night. Jackson has improved each week all season and once we get him a sweat band to keep the sweat out of his eyes he is going to be having some big races the rest of the year. The Indians are back in action on Saturday morning at Randolph Southern for the Southern Invitational with HS girls getting things started. Schedule of events: 9:00 - HS Girls 9:45 - HS Boys 10:30 - JH Girls 11:15 - JH Boys
