The 7th and 8th Grade Boys Basketball team played their season opener tonight against Centerville. The 7th Grade team played hard until the end but came up short losing to a very deep Centerville team. The Indians were led in scoring by Keegan Cooper who had 7 points. Tayson Barbour and Cael Holt each contributed 4 points as well. The 7th Grade team travels to Hagerstown on 11/16 to take on the Tigers. The 8th Grade team started out strong but were unable to hang on against Centerville. The Indians were led in scoring by Trace Green who had 15 points. Asa Vaughn contributed 10 points. Luis Neito and Logan Besser each contributed 2 points. The 8th Grade team travels to Hagerstown on 11/16 to take on the Tigers. Coaches thoughts: No matter the outcome, tonight was a very good night. All players came out and played hard. They did not hang their heads and they played until the final buzzer. Both the 7th and 8th grade teams are very competitive and will learn from this loss. The 7th and 8th Grade teams have a long season ahead. Each game, each practice we will get better. The players made my first game very special. I am pleased with their effort and their willingness to adapt during the game. Both of these teams are very talented and I am excited for what the rest of the season has in store.
