The Indian JH Cross Country teams traveled to Winchester Saturday morning for the Winchester Invitational and after crossing the finish line almost all of the runners ran new PRs for a 3000m course. The Girls got things started with Lyla Baldwin leading the way placing 13th with a new PR of 13:49. Baldwin set a new PR by 25 seconds. Aleah Lacy was the next Indian to cross the finish line as she ran a new season best by 18 seconds. Lacy placed 27th with a time of 16:13. Sophia Kobus was also running hard today for the Indians. Kobus running the 3000m distance for the first time crossed the finish line in 31st place with a time of 18:20. The boys were next to line up and it was Xander Elkins leading the Indians across the finish line. Elkins had his second great race of the week as he placed 6th with a time of 12:05 and a 38 second PR. Mikkel Hartman wasn't far behind Elkins placing 7th for the Indians. Hartman ran to a 26 second PR with a time of 12:07. Reid Kerns just missed out on a top 10 finish placing 11th for the Indians. Kerns like the rest had a great day. Reid ran to a 22 second PR with a time of 12:27. Rowan Jones took his running to a new level today placing 18th with an impressive new PR of 14:26. He beat his previous best time by over 6 minutes for the 3000m distance. Brantlee Kobus was the next Indian to have a PR day as he crossed the finish line in 23rd place with time of 18:31. Kobus beat his previous best time by over 2 minutes. Seth Gaddy rounded out the big runs for the Indians. Gaddy placed 25th for the Indians with a time of 21:30 and a new PR by 40 seconds. All of the kids were ready to go today and when their races started they took off and represented Union City very well! The Indians are back in action one last time next Saturday at Centerville for the TEC meet with the high school teams
