Indians Battle Jay County The Union City Indians traveled to Jay County Tuesday to take on a sectional opponent in a tough matchup. Unfortunately, the Indians came up short, falling 0-5. Despite the final score, the Indians battled throughout the match and gained valuable experience against a strong Jay County team. Singles No. 1 Singles – Luis Nieto Nieto battled hard but fell 3-6, 2-6. No. 2 Singles – Levi Clark Clark fought through a tough match, falling 1-6, 0-6. No. 3 Singles – Reid Kerns Kerns battled point-for-point in the opening set before falling 4-6, 2-6. Doubles No. 1 Doubles – Asa Vaughn & Gabe Thomas Vaughn and Thomas fell 0-6, 2-6. No. 2 Doubles – Luke Jefferis & Lucas Lynch Jefferis and Lynch battled hard, falling 3-6, 1-6. The Indians will have a quick turnaround and will be back in action Wednesday at Winchester. Union City will then return home Thursday to take on Randolph Southern, with both matches coming against county opponents.
