Indians Battle Jay County The Union City Indians traveled to Jay County Tuesday to take on a sectional opponent in a tough matchup. Unfortunately, the Indians came up short, falling 0-5. Despite the final score, the Indians battled throughout the match and gained valuable experience against a strong Jay County team. Singles No. 1 Singles – Luis Nieto Nieto battled hard but fell 3-6, 2-6. No. 2 Singles – Levi Clark Clark fought through a tough match, falling 1-6, 0-6. No. 3 Singles – Reid Kerns Kerns battled point-for-point in the opening set before falling 4-6, 2-6. Doubles No. 1 Doubles – Asa Vaughn & Gabe Thomas Vaughn and Thomas fell 0-6, 2-6. No. 2 Doubles – Luke Jefferis & Lucas Lynch Jefferis and Lynch battled hard, falling 3-6, 1-6. The Indians will have a quick turnaround and will be back in action Wednesday at Winchester. Union City will then return home Thursday to take on Randolph Southern, with both matches coming against county opponents. Come out and support the Indians as they continue their season and prepare for sectional play! The boys would love to see you there!
