🏆 Indians Capture County Championship After Two Days of Strong Tennis The Union City Indians put together two impressive days of tennis, finishing with a 5–0 victory over Randolph Southern on Wednesday evening to claim the 2026 County Championship! First Round: Union City vs. Winchester The Indians opened the county tournament against Winchester and came away with four victories. #1 Singles – Luis Nieto: Won 6–0, 6–1 #2 Singles – Levi Clark: Fell 2–6, 0–6 #3 Singles – Reid Kearns: Won 6–2, 6–0 #1 Doubles – Asa Vaughan & Gabe Thomas: Won 6–2, 6–1 #2 Doubles – Luke Jefferies & Lucas Lynch: Won 4–6, 6–0, 6–1 With the strong performances, the Indians advanced to the championship match against Randolph Southern. 🏆 County Championship: Union City vs. Randolph Southern Wednesday evening, the Indians took the courts against Randolph Southern with the county championship on the line. Union City delivered a dominant 5–0 sweep. #1 Singles – Luis Nieto: Won 6–3, 6–2 #2 Singles – Levi Clark: Won 6–0, 6–0 #3 Singles – Reid Kearns: Won 6–1, 6–0 #1 Doubles – Asa Vaughan & Gabe Thomas: Won 6–0, 6–0 #2 Doubles – Luke Jefferies & Lucas Lynch: Won 6–1, 6–0 🌧️ A Championship Effort On and Off the Court Mother Nature tried to shut things down, but players and coaches from both Union City and Southern worked together to get the courts playable so the championship matches could be completed. A special shout-out goes to Isaac Thornburg for coming out and helping get the courts ready for play. His help was greatly appreciated! And one final shout-out goes to the UCPD for providing an awesome escort back to the school after the championship. The kids absolutely loved it!
